Halloween isn't limited to one
place in a city of 200,000. The the main event takes place on
Main Street in Downtown Huntington Beach, where Trick or Treat
on Main Street includes kids bouncy houses, a petting zoo and a
costume contest. The downtown Halloween event attracts up to
10,000 people of all ages and goes from dark till around 8:30 -
9 p.m. That's when the kids scurry away to their homes, and the
adults take center stage with sexy costumes,
crazy masquerades and
night clubbing in the downtown bars filled with costume
contests, dancing, and imbibing (drinking).
Up Main Street at Seacliff Shopping Center there sometimes is an
afternoon trick or treat event that goes for about an hour at
the mall which includes Albertsons, McDonalds, and Del Taco.
Heading over to the northeast portion of the city at the Edinger
Corridor is the Bella Terra mall trick or treat event, where
kids can again, shop at the merchant businesses.
Trick or treating in Huntington
Beach has diminished only slightly with advent of public events
for youth. Neighborhoods filled with kids in costumes are the
norm, and you should drive extremely slow and with caution on
this one special evening, always on October 31.
