Huntington Beach, Calif.―July
starts out with a bang in Huntington Beach. The annual
Huntington Beach 4th of July Celebration has been over 100
years in the making. From the drum beat to the clomp, clomp
of an equestrian team, you'll see bands, floats and
fireworks on Independence Day and it's free!
Surfing is an even larger
draw, however, when the US Open of Surfing and Beach Games
come to town. Sand flies furiously as kids and adults pound
the sandy beach to see sports action, a Surfer's Village,
free handouts and live bands. Again, it's free!
From the weekly Farmer's
Market to the free concerts held at Pier Plaza and the
International Surfing Museum, if you seek cheap
entertainment, grab your bicycle, skates or hoof it down to
HB to enjoy the summer of fun.
