MISSION
STATEMENT
The Downtown Huntington Beach Business
Improvement District is a business organization, dedicated to enhancing the
downtown business environment by providing opportunities, service, information,
and encourages businesses to work together for their collective best interest.
It perpetuates the spirit, values and vision that a community must exercise in
order to achieve an exemplary life style.

Meet the 2008/2009 Board Member
Candidates
The
Downtown Business Improvement District Board Nominating Committee
has met and reviewed all the submitted applications that have been
submitted to fill Board seats for 2008/2009. They will be will be
proposing the following individuals to fill the following open Board
Seats. See what some of their goals and objectives are for the
organization and its future growth and development. Note: General
Membership Meeting/Inaugural Celebration November 13th, at
5:30-7:30pm, Location Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort.
President - 1 year term
Susie
Smith, Owner Operator, Makin Waves Salon
*Currently Ambassador Chairwomen and Serves on the Board as a
Director
*Her
personal objective is to continue to preserve and protect the
uniqueness of the downtown
community, where she lives, owns a business and has raised her son.
*Wants to continue to encourage BID Stakeholders participation, and
to grow and prosper
together as a business community
*Being a past Treasurer of the Downtown Merchants Association and
being involved in the Specific
Events Committee, has provided her a wealth of experience in the
needs of downtown area.
Vice President - 1 year term
Bill
Cuppy, Agent, Remax Real Estate Services
*Currently serves on the Board as a Director
*Looks to help improve the downtown area where he works, lives and
plays
*Wants to better understand and achieve the goals of the downtown
businesses
*He
feels the key to fostering cooperation in the downtown area is
communication
Treasurer- 1 year term
Stephanie Inbody, Manager, Fred’s Mexican Café
*Currently serves on the Board as a Director
*Wants to see financial growth come to downtown
*Wants to work on enhancing the marketing and advertising of
downtown
*Looks forward continued growth in the area of communication with
the downtown Stakeholders
Secretary- 1 year term
Moe
Memon, V.P of Operations, Electric Chair
*Currently serving as a BID Block Ambassador
*Wants to raise his level of involvement in the HBDBID
*Hopes to continue to bring exciting events to downtown that will
benefit all the Stakeholders
*Willing to act as a liaison to the city on behalf of the BID to
make doing business downtown
a
smoother process

Tom
Black, Owner, Crabby Boat House
*Wants to help to continue to improve downtown in a positive
direction and establish objectives
for future downtown improvement
*Wants to keep close contact with the city officials
*Wants to seek ways to help increase business revenue and ways to
control the safety of the downtown

*Wants to see financial growth come to the downtown
*Wants to work on Marketing and Advertising of downtown
*Looking to discover better ways to communicate with the general

she loves Huntington Beach and has a vested interested in seeing HB

*Currently Serving as a BID Block Ambassador
*Wants to contribute to improving the downtown area

*Wants to assist in improving the marketing of all BID activities

remaining on his term

Please note the right of application is available. Ballots to be
sent out in October with full instructions and a return envelop.
Ballots will kept sealed and with the approval of the Board the ED
will select (3) judges who are not candidates to count ballots and
certify in writing to the Board the results of the election.
