HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF.-- Davenport
Beach is located on Davenport Drive just before you drive over the
bridge entering Davenport Island. Also
referred to as
Mother's Beach, it is a
small beach ideal for launch your kayaks
and is popular as a local beach for
sunbathing, reading books and soaking up
some sunshine. There are no restrooms at
the beach and in addition to a posted
sign with rules & regulations, you'll
find one or two trash cans.
During the winter months the beach is
mostly empty except at Christmas when
visitors and locals stop to look a the
beautiful houses decorated with lights
that reflect on the waters of the bay.
You also may see a portion of the
Christmas boat park from the beach
location.
The beach is operated and maintained by
the city of Huntington Beach. There's no
lifeguard staff and limited parking.
However, you can park further away in
local neighborhoods and walk to the
little beach if you like.
