Picture Edwards Street
Near Central Park, Huntington
Beach, CA For residents
living in tracts that feed onto
Edwards Street near Central Park
in Huntington Beach, the past
year was filled with jack
hammers, bulldozers, dump trucks
filled with dirt & rocks, dust,
noise, and ground shaking
experiences in along the
rehabbed street. Edwards
Street once was knows for the
soap box derby races that used
to take place on the hill. Those
days are long gone, but each
year the busy thoroughfare
between Seacliff residential
communities and the Garden Grove
Freeway (22) does close for the
Surf City Marathon, a race held
on Super Bowl Sunday. Adjacent
to Central Park West, Edwards
Street is the handiest road to
access Huntington Beach's Dog
Park and the scenic Lake
Huntington. This is also where
you will find Kathy May's
Breakfast in the Park.
The next time you drive along
Edwards and begin descending the
hill, be sure to apply the
breaks. Your speed will quickly
exceed the legal limit and you
don't want to get a ticket.
Also watch for pedestrians
crossing at the stoplight, for
children crossing to school in
cross walks, and be safe as your
car tries to pace ahead of you. |
