Main Street
Trick or Treat October 31
Halloween is California's 2nd or
most popular holiday, depending on your interest. Costume shops
pop up over a month previous to October 31, the day each year in
which Halloween occurs. And in Downtown Huntington Beach, just
across the street from the Huntington Beach Pier, Main Street
fills up with child-like excitement as the games, rides, costume
contests and free candy give-away begins. Merchants normally
don't just give food away but on Halloween they do!
The photograph shows the normal
crowd attending the Trick or Treat Main Street free Halloween
event. The only thing that stop people from attending is
parking. You can count on walking a distance if you don't arrive
early (event begins around 5:30 p.m.) One great idea is to go
downtown with the family and eat dinner, then begin the Trick or
Treating Fun. The activities span a 3 block area from Orange
Ave. to Pacific Coast Highway on Main. You'll find half a dozen
inflatables for kids, booths with drawing, coloring, and games,
candy from merchants, a costume contest for kids, and some years
there is a pet dress-up contest, too.
If the scene above appeals to you,
you've come to the right place. Getting there: use 200 Main
Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648 as your address for arrival.
There's a city parking garage at that address, but it fills up
fast. You can park across the street at beach parking if the
neighborhood parking is packed for blocks.
The event for kids normally goes
from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. approx. |
