Shipley Nature Center vibrant

Amigos de Bolsa Chica offers
free public tours from 9 to
10:30am, leaving every 15
minutes, the first Saturday of
each month at the pedestrian
bridge at the Bolsa Chica
wetlands on Pacific Coast
Highway across from Bolsa Chica
State Beach. The next tour is

Tour the Newland House Museum
from Noon to 4PM At 19820 Beach
Boulevard. It's
the oldest residence built in
the City of Huntington Beach.
The Newland House was built in
1898 for Huntington Beach
pioneers William and Mary
Newland and their ten children.
The original Newland Ranch
extended from Beach Boulevard to
Magnolia Street and from
Yorktown Avenue south to Atlanta
Avenue, for a total of 500+
acres. At that time, the Newland
family planted lima beans, sugar
beets, celery and later chili
peppers. For group tours,

Sunday:
This event is from 9AM to
Noon.
Work with the enthusiastic staff
to help restore the natural
habitat of the Bolsa Chica Land
Trust. Get rid of trash and
non-native plant species all the
while enjoying a beautiful day
in the sun. This program helps
raise public awareness and
understanding about the Bolsa
Chica Wetlands and its
importance to the community.
After the restoration
activities, be sure to visit the
interpretive center which houses
two touch tanks containing
coral, hermit crabs and
starfish. Service days are the
first Sunday and the third
Saturday of each month. Please
'dress for mess' with long pants
and closed toe shoes (like
sneakers) and plenty of
sunscreen. For more information,
