Huntington Beach, CA--The photograph above is an
aerial picture of Huntington Harbour, and includes in the
foreground Sunset Marina and Sunset Aquatic Park with a
public parks area, launch ramp and mooring for boats. This
public marina is across the bay and overlooks the
incorporated marina in Huntington Beach at
Peter's Landing.
Overlooking the Pacific Ocean and beaches of Sunset
Beach, the inlet islands and channels are located in
Huntington Beach residential area of Huntington Harbour. It
is comprised of five manmade islands, and a sixth which is
Sunset Island.
In the distance on the top of the photograph is the Bolsa
Chica wetlands. Huntington Beach enjoys miles of ocean
frontage and additional waterways for pleasure craft. The
channel to exit the harbor passes through Anaheim Bay and
past Seal Beach Naval Weapons Stations.
The channel is a busy area with many pleasure craft
heading for fishing trips, others going to Mexico, and some
yachts and sailboats heading across the bay on a 26 mile
trek to Catalina Island.
