Huntington Beach,
Calif.-Serving
delicious cupcakes with some of the tastiest
icings in the world, Chef
Wonyee
Tom and Lisa Tom (sisters & partners)
held the grand opening of Tomgirl Bakery in Huntington
Beach in October 2010 with over 150 people
attending the ceremonial and ribbon cutting
of the new store.
With a
regular clientele that includes the Hilton
Waterfront Beach Resort (where
Wonyee's husband, Chef Jeff
Littlefield, wins awards) to Hyatt
Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa, the
bakery is a natural progression from a beach
cafe location at Huntington City Beach, to a
bakery shop that's easily accessible and
offers plenty of free parking on Adams &
Magnolia in the Smart & Final shopping
center plaza in Surf City. The cafe-style
store also has seating and sells iced or hot
coffee drinks such as lattes, cappuccinos
and
mochas, plus hot chocolate. You can
buy individual slices of cake, cookies and
brownies for a sit-down treat, or take out
with you.
The big splash, however is the custom
cake menu. Specializing in special events
functions such as weddings, anniversaries,
birthdays and corporate events, the cakes
are known for their incredible style in
presentation, and delicious taste--based on
quality ingredients that go into the
products.

York, graduating from culinary school, then
working at Chelsea Baking Company making
breakfast pastries on the graveyard shift.
She honed her skills at the

Sofi
and The Pierre Hotel. As the Pastry Chef at
Gotham Bar and Grill in New York and The
Water Grill in downtown Los Angeles, her
specialty was putting a new spin on
