Mann Pierside 6 Cinemas in downtown
Huntington Beach, California on Pacific Coast Highway near
Main Street is closed now but was located in the Pierside Pavilion building. It has a
second floor theater entrance with elevator or outdoor stair
entry, next to Spark Woodfire Cooking (known for Italian
food and 30 types of martinis). You must pay a fee to park
in the Pierside garage to see a movie but the garage
directly across Walnut is a city-operated facility that you
can park at free to watch your movie with a validated
parking ticket at Mann Theatres (see
parking chart.) Pierside Pavilion garage is operated by
MPI Modern Parking, Inc.
Also next door is
Fred's
Mexican Cafe with rock 'n roll music, margaritas,
beers and cocktails, pool tables and great Mexican food.
Downstairs is Gallaghers Irish Pub with live bands and Irish
music many nights. Also in the building are
Subway, Asian
food, candy stores, smoothies and ice cream, Hot Dogs,
an art gallery, Curves, a nail salon,
Huntington Surf & Sport, the
Surfers' Hall of Fame with a statue of Duke Kahanamoku
and Poseidon Billiards. Seldom will you see a more lovely theater
next door to several restaurants with cocktails, sunset
views and the Pacific Ocean across the street. You can also
shop in the same building at the huge Huntington Surf and
Sport store.
Mann Theatres operates this theater much
in the style of its Hollywood counterparts. Reflecting the
local culture, it features a monthly Surf Film night, often
with live music and entertainment, guest appearances from
local surf film producers and actors and the promoters. You
can find the surf film schedules usually on
HUNTINGTONBEACHEVENTS as well as movies appearing.
