August in Huntington Beach, California is all about the
sunshine, funshine, and beaches. Zillions of grains of sand
are warm to touch, providing the perfect bed for you to
slump down into and slumber into an afternoon nap. But
what' you find out is by digging just a few inches deep, the
sand is really quite cool below the surface. It's a lesson
in heat absorption and reason you may want to wear some
sunblock or monitor the amount of time you spend having fun.
On the calendar you'll
find kids activities such as the Adventure Playground in
Central Park, and you may notice that Labor Day will begin
on August's last weekend. That weekend is a whopper, hosting
Boardfest, Civil War Re-enactment and other events and
concerts. Just pick and choose 'cause you can't do it all.
