Huntington Beach, CA--Brix
started out as a wine bar--one of the
first to enter this region of the Orange
County Coast. It was slow going, but
soon the bar became popular and expanded
to offer food and deli service. The
restaurant portion of the business
previously was a catering business, then
a Mexican restaurant, and then a deli.
What Brix Wine Bar does best is provide
a nice atmosphere less than a block from
the beach. Located on Pacific Coast
Highway in Sunset Beach, Brix is not far
from the intersection of Warner &
Pacific Coast Highway.
Brix has paved the way for other
popular wine bars in Seal Beach on Main
Street, and in downtown Huntington Beach
on Main Street where you'll find a place
aptly named
Main
Street Wine Bar.
If sampling wines and relaxing with
friends is your idea of a the way to
spend time at or near the beach, Brix is
a great choice. Parking is right in
front of the entry door, and you'll
enjoy the classical Romanesque statue /
water fountain as you drive up.
This location is ideal for stopping
to sample wines, then heading onto a
fine dinner at Captain Jack's or
Harpoon
Harry's nearby. Huntington Harbour
is located across the street, so another
great choice is to sample wines,
purchase a bottle you like, and take it
down the road a short distance for your
romantic gondola ride at Sunset Gondola
located in Peter's Landing on Pacific
Coast Highway. Several nearby hotels for
vacationers include a
Best Western,
Ramada, and a former Econolodge
which is now called Sanatra Inn.
Happy wine sampling. While Orange
County and Los Angeles are not known for
wineries, there are hundreds of
fantastic wineries throughout
California, and many of their excellent
wines are featured at Brix.
