- On the beach! If you heading out for a night of entertainment with a great meal, live music and cocktails, you can actually walk from the restaurant and bar to your hotel room.  In fact, this is the closest hotel to the beach between Newport Beach's BALBOA INN and Long Beach's HYATT REGENCY.  At J. King Neptune's Steaks, Seafood and Spirits plus bands, Happy Hour, games and fun are served up in a friendly, neighborhood atmosphere folks like to call their home away from home. There are several other Sunset Beach hang-outs where each patron will tell you that it is the place away from. Those include Harpoon Harry's, Irish Mist, Mother's and Turcs. But for now, we're are featuring King Neptune's. It has been redecorated recently and includes an intimate dining area and two theme rooms with the Monster Garage. Did you know that one of King Neptune's bartenders was the first female to win the Bartender's Competition' She works part time now but still plies her trade, making the finest cocktails in town.

The musical entertainment is an eclectic mix of rockabilly, blues, funk and punk. You never know what's in store for you at King Neptune's after the food service stops around 10 p.m. on weekends. The Offspring, Hillbilly Hellcats, HB Surround Sound and Grampa's Grass are a few of the bands that have played there recently.

Summers heat up with band most every night. It's best to call ahead and find out who's being featured and what type of music they are playing if that sort of thing is really important.
