Bolsa Chica State
Beach
Most days you will not see this
view of Bolsa Chica State Beach. Rarely can you grab such
clear glimpses of Long Beach skyline in the distance. On a
clear day you will be able to see the whales painted on Long
Beach Arena circular building in the largest whale mural
painted by famed artist Wyland, while most other days you
will see no building at all.
Bolsa Chica State Beach is
connected to the mainland, but because of the wetlands
across the street (Bolsa Chica wetlands,) it almost appears
that this state beach is a peninsula.
Most popular for its easy
freeway access from cities north of Orange County, this
beach charges flat flee admission into the parking (usually
around $15) and features firerings, lots of sand, RV camping
on one end of the beach, and further south there's a dog
beach where you can let the pets roam free.
