Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort
Huntington Beach, California - Hilton
Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach recently had a makeover at the Palm
Court Restaurant. Formerly filled with graphic art designs
of palms trees in natural hues, the restaurant now enjoys
rich wood hues, sturdy but elegant fabrics and rich red
tones with lamps that create a club effect. Classical
music piped in through a sound system has replaced the long
time keyboardist, Eugene, who played popular tunes. The
effect is a relaxing atmosphere enhanced by a full bar and
extensive wine selection that creates a mood to linger and
enjoy the ambiance.
If
you've dined in Carmel Valley Ranch's The Oaks Dining Room,
the feel of the remade Palm Court is similarly classic
elegance not overdone. The views are different from those of
golf course landscapes and deer passing by in Carmel Valley.
Instead you see pools of water, palm trees and open sky.
Fresh flowers, red glow of the Moroccan lights and darker
dining than previously offered befit the menu and price
which begins at $10/person for a light salad to around
$75-100/person for a full meal and wine or cocktails. The
Hilton has never been considered a low-priced dining
experience and there's a reason why. Chef Jeff
Littlefield pays attention to the details. The food
preparations are clearly a cut above. Unless you have
trained in the finer kitchens, you are not going to find the
selections and original treatments that make every dish a
delight. See a sample of some
recent dishes ordered.
The views from the Palm Court
are some of the loveliest dining views in Huntington Beach,
too. Duke's at the Beach offer beach and pier
views, sometimes with a lot of action and things to watch.
The Hilton has ocean view dining but it is tranquil with
symmetrical palm trees, sand and the blue ocean offering
more of a setting that provides a focus on dining. Hilton
Shades prices range from around $8.95 for breakfast items and
appetizers up to $50 for entrees (approximate). For special
occasions and overnight accommodations at the hotel, do try
the food. It is very good, gourmet faire to be precise.
Shades The award-winning Shades Restaurant features California
Contemporary Cuisine complemented by a wine list which
focuses on the California regions. The wine list offers a
selection of moderately priced wines by the glass or full
bottle. Whether sitting inside the beautifully decorated
restaurant or out on the pool-side patio, there is a
magnificent view of the Pacific Ocean. Entertainment is
provided nightly by our talented pianist. The always popular
Champagne Brunch is available every Sunday from 10 am to 3
pm. At the Sunday Brunch, you will enjoy a wide variety of
foods including a carving station, made to order omelets,
Belgian waffles, fresh sushi, and an irresistible assortment
of desserts. Throughout the brunch, our talented magician
provides entertainment as he makes his way to each table
mystifying our guests with his slight of hand, and the
melodious sounds of the harpist playing will only add to
your enjoyment of this Sunday tradition served with a
California twist.
Shades is open for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Attire is casually elegant.
