Harpoon Harry's in Sunset Beach, California
UPDATE: Business is being renovated and will become
another restaurant under the Schooner or Later (Alamitos
Landing, Long Beach) umbrella. Reports say similar menu will be
served to the harborside restaurant a few miles north.

Harpoon Harry's in Sunset Beach sits directly
across the street from Huntington Harbour. This
unincorporated town some consider part of Huntington or Seal
Beach features fantastic food and entertainment in local
restaurants and pubs where families and singles have gone
for over 40 years. Located on Pacific Coast Highway at the
corner of Anderson Street diagonal from Captain Jack's is
another fine dining restaurant that includes a fantastic bar
in Harpoon Harry's. They serve a dynamite Sunday Brunch,
dinner every every evening, cocktails in a full bar and live
music weekly on Thursday through Saturday. Also specializing
in King Crab Legs, some say they like them hear better than
Captain Jack's.
Entering on a week day afternoon at 3
p.m., several well-dressed business people sat at the bar
drinking cocktails and talking. We asked how they liked the
place and both said it was like a home away from home. The
friendly bar tender knew his customers and they knew him. In
Sunset Beach, people get to know each other and built a
loyal clientele. If you seek a friendly neighborhood pub,
this would be another one of Sunset Beach's great choices,
along with J. King Neptune's, Mother's, Turc's and Irish
Mist. Happy Hour is Monday to Thursday from 3 to 7
p.m. Call first, as information is subject to change.
