California Pizza Kitchen in the redesigned Bella Terra Huntington Beach Mall located on Edinger between Beach Boulevard and Gothard opened its doors in March 2005 to the glee of those who have enjoyed great pizza in surrounding Newport Beach and Long Beach. Huntington Beach, with a population of approximately 200,000 people deserved its very own chain restaurant that features gourmet pizza, sandwiches, salads and a full cocktail bar.

The new restaurant is decorated in natural colors with traditional stone wall treatments, wood tables, a centerpiece granite bar that frames the wood bake oven and chefs open kitchen, and an comfortable, open atmosphere with booths, tall tables with comfortable bar stools and bar seating. Guaranteed to be an instant success, the new store launched several new recipes during its grand opening in Huntington Beach. Welcoming the store were City Council members Debbie Cook, Cathy, Keith Bohr, Cathy Green and Dave Sullivan. Each was offered a shiny, new pizza cutter to slice the first pieces of the pie and help the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce President Joyce Riddell and her Chamber ambassadors welcome this new business to Huntington Beach, California or Surf City.

Joining the ranks of dozens of restaurants specializing in pizza in Huntington Beach with chains such as Pizza Hut, Domino's and privately owned Oggi's, Surf City Pizza, BJ Pizza and Brewery and more, the upscale pizza diner will serve one of Huntington Beach's favorite foods.

Pizzas offered (subject to change) include The Original Barbecue Chicken with with smoked Gouda and Mozzarella cheeses, White Pizza, Thai Chicken, California Club with Applewood smoked bacon, Santa Fe Chicken, Mushroom Pepperoni Sausage, Tostada with black beans, B.L.T., Goat Cheese with Roasted Peppers, Vegetarian with Japanese Eggplant, Roasted Garlic Chicken, Peking Duck, Shrimp Scampi, Neapolitan pizzas and more.

Salads include Waldorf Chicken Salad, Chinese Chicken Salad, White Balsamic Provencal, The Original BBQ Chicken Chopped, Smoked Bacon & Gorgonzola Chopped and more!

Appetizers featured: Sesame Ginger Chicken Dumplings, Garlic Cheese Focaccia with Checca, Tortilla Spring Rolls, Lettuce Wraps, Tuscan Hummus, Spinach Artichoke Dip and Singapore Shrimp Rolls. There are also soups, Focaccia sandwiches and pastas such as Jambalaya, Fettuccine with Garlic Cream Sauce, Kung Pao Spaghetti and Bolgnese Linguini.

Desserts include White Chocolate Strawberry Cheesecake, Tiramisu, Apple Crisp, Key Lime Pie, Hot Fudge Brownie, Chocolate Souffle Cake and Hot Fudge or Caramel Sundae.

California Pizza Kitchen Opens in Surf City on March 2, 2005; Opening of New Huntington Beach California Pizza Kitchen Will Benefit KOCE-TV Children's Programming

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 2, 2005--California Pizza Kitchen, Inc. (Nasdaq:CPKI), home to the Original BBQ Chicken Pizza and other innovative hearth-baked pizzas, made-to-order pastas, creative salads, appetizers, soups, sandwiches and desserts, opened its doors in "Surf City, USA" Huntington Beach, Calif., on Wednesday, March 2, 2005.

The opening benefited children's programming initiatives at KOCE-TV through a donation of 100 percent of pizza sales on Wednesday, March 9, 2005, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The menu features all of the CPK favorites like the Jamaican Jerk and Thai Chicken Pizzas along with two new menu items being introduced in CPKs nationwide the day of the grand opening. Guests will be able to order CPK's new Bangkok Calamari, served with a sweet Thai dipping sauce and homemade remoulade, and the new Chipotle Chicken Ravioli in a spicy chipotle cream sauce. A full bar will offer an extensive beverage menu with more than 40 specialty drinks, including CPK's original California Cosmo and an extensive list of martinis, margaritas and cocktails.
